This rattan ball is used for many different sports, such as football, and there are some games that are only played with this kind of ball, one of the being Takraw. Takraw, sometimes known as the king’s sport, is a traditional game that involves hanging a net from a high tree. The players stand around the net and try to kick the ball into the net without it hitting the floor. It is played at festivals and the idea is to show off by doing trick shots and prizes are handed out for the most spectacular shots.

A new kind of Takraw has recently become very popular in Thailand. Sepak Takraw is a competitive sport played in two teams of three. It is like volleyball but instead of using hands, only the feet and head can have contact with the ball. Professional players are big stars in Thailand because of their skill and amazing acrobatic kicks.
